Dr. Tan Mei Hooi Email: [email protected] Dr. Tan Mei Hooi is a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering, Computing and Built Environment, UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College. She has joined the institution since December 2007. Her responsibilities in teaching and improving content for Engineering Mathematics and Introduction in Inventive Problem Solving in Engineering will contribute to enhance the quality of education provided. Dr. Tan is an experienced lecturer with more than 20 years of teaching experiences in both secondary education and tertiary education. She continually exhibits excellent teaching and encouraging students to participant in social responsibility activities such as STEM Exhibitions, Science Carnival, Christmas Charity Event, and etc. Furthermore, she also dynamically in conducting workshop to secondary school students such as STEM workshop, Creativity Bowl Workshop and Motivation Workshop. Dr. Tan is a certified public trainer under HRDF, MyTRIZ Level 3 Practitioner and MyTRIZ Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor. With her achievement in applying TRIZ in engineering, her team has been awarded second runner-up in MyTRIZ Competition 2018. Additionally, she is actively involved in conducting TRIZ Level 1 workshops aim to fostering interest and developing soft skills in engineering among students. Her efforts to promote TRIZ methodology among students demonstrate her commitment to improve students’ problem-solving skills, creativity and innovative levels. By providing students with the tools and techniques to think outside the box and find innovative solution to complex problem, this will cultivate the next generation of innovative thinkers and problem-solvers.
