Thai Students Explore Creative Design

Thai Students Unleash Creativity at UOW Malaysia KDU University College Penang, Batu Kawan Campus!

What an amazing two days it was at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College! We recently welcomed 30 enthusiastic students and 5 teachers all the way from Hatyaiwitthayalai Somboonkulkunya School in Hatyai, Thailand, for a hands-on mobility program focused on Creative Graphic Design and 3D Printing. The energy was electric!

Our Batu Kawan campus, specifically the Department of Built Environment and the Department of Engineering, played host to this exciting event recently. The goal? To give these bright young minds a taste of the cutting-edge digital tools and techniques used in these dynamic fields.

Day 1: Diving into the World of 3D Printing

We kicked things off with a warm welcome and an ice-breaking session led by the Department of Built Environment team. It was a great way to get everyone energized and ready for the learning adventure ahead. Then, the Department of Engineering took the reins, immersing the students in the fascinating world of Creative 3D Modelling. They weren’t just watching demonstrations—the students were designing, modelling, and printing their own creations using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology. Talk about a hands-on experience. Imagine the excitement of seeing your digital 3D model come to life right before your eyes.

Day 2: Unleashing Digital Creativity

Day two was all about Creative Design. The students got to grips with industry-standard software and learned essential design principles. They were creating some seriously impressive digital artwork! It was inspiring to see their creativity flow and watch them develop their design skills.

A Grand Finale: Student Shout-out Spectacular!

The program concluded with the much-anticipated Student Shout-out Spectacular, an interactive forum where the students reflected on their experiences and showcased the incredible work they had produced over the two days mobility program. The highlight? Awards were presented for the best 3D Modelling and Creative Design, recognizing the students’ outstanding achievements. Huge congratulations to all the winners!

This program was more than just a workshop; it was an opportunity for these international students to explore their creative potential, ignite their passion for technology and design, and connect with like-minded individuals. Whether they become future 3D innovators, digital artists, or something else entirely, this immersive experience provided a platform for them to explore, create, and truly shine. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future!
