What is Built Environment?

Built Environment refers to our surroundings that are created by humans, for humans and to be used for human activity. It is easily distinguished from the natural environment, for example, buildings, parks, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications networks, and many more.

Build Environment studies are interdisciplinary and often overlap with other aspects such as architecture, engineering, urban planning, geography, history, visual arts, interior design, industrial design, environmental studies and sociology.
